Salt Bags

Salt bag, namakdan (Persian namak-dân, "salt-holder). These bags have a unique shape with their neck or spout. They are used to store salt or grain. Most are flat-weave construction like the one on the right, although some have a hand knotted or pile face like the one on the left. They can be from the Afshars, the Bakhtiyari, the Baluch, the Lurs and the Shahsavan.
